Job summary

Engine is seeking a senior engineering leader to own the AI Platform core, including the LLM gateway, agent framework, and evaluation infrastructure. You will also shepherd the Velocity program, focusing on AI harness, testing, and autonomy frameworks, while rebuilding product operations as software to improve delivery cadence.

You will drive automation APIs, data infrastructure, and observability, with a focus on security and cost controls.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software or platform engineering.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams or orgs.
• 8+ years building platforms or infrastructure.
• 3+ years hands-on with production AI/ML: LLMs, agents, evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Own AI Platform core: LLM gateway, agent framework, evaluation infra.
• Own Velocity program: AI harness, testing and autonomy frameworks.
• Product operations rebuilt as software: cadence, automated reporting, PD maturity scorecard.
• Automation APIs: shared APIs, orchestration, and integrations.
• AI data infrastructure: retrieval, RAG, context pipelines, usage telemetry.
• Observability and security: cost controls and security posture for platform AI.
