Job summary

OhioHealth at Home in partnership with Compassus seeks a Volunteer Coordinator to lead volunteer programs and support patient care through effective volunteer management.

You will recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise volunteers, ensuring background checks and trainings are completed, and you will collaborate with the IDT to implement the plan of care while maintaining records and reporting on program impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Colleague degree (AS or BS) preferred.
• Experience in Social Services, Human Services, Resource Management or related field preferred; or equivalent.
• Prior experience managing volunteer services or non-profit organization a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to develop and implement the plan of care.
• Promotes the use of volunteers to support patient care needs.
• Actively recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and retains volunteers for administrative and patient care needs.
• Adheres to HR policies in recruitment and selection processes.
• Ensures background and health screenings are completed prior to volunteers being offered positions.
• Performs initial and ongoing competency evaluations to verify training and support needs.
• Maintains records of recruitment and retention activities.
• Maintains records of volunteer utilization as required by regulations.
• Communicates patient and family needs to IDT.
• Provides education about volunteer services to IDT members.
• Prepares reports and documents to demonstrate program value.
• Delivers high quality training for new volunteers and at least 4 in-services per year.
• Manages volunteer services within budgetary guidelines.
