Job summary

Heartland Hospice is seeking a compassionate Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train and supervise volunteers who support patients and families. You will advocate for volunteers, ensure program alignment with hospice regulations, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet community needs.

The role emphasizes recruitment, training, mentoring, and accurate volunteer records, with a focus on quality improvement and strong communication across staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong organization and record-keeping abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all volunteer activity within the service area.
• Assess patient and family needs for volunteer services and coordinate placements.
• Recruit, train, and retain Administrative, Direct Care, Vigil, and Bereavement volunteers.
• Facilitate volunteer orientation and annual training requirements.
