Job summary

Compassus is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer program within the care team. You will interview, hire, train, supervise, and retain volunteers, coordinating workload and ensuring compliant processes across departments and external partners.

You will participate in the interdisciplinary team, promote volunteer involvement in patient care, deliver trainings, manage records, and monitor program impact while supporting the plan of care for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AS or BS preferred.
• Experience in Social Services, Human Services, Resource Management or related field preferred.
• Prior experience managing volunteer services or non-profit organization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT) and supports care plan development.
• Promotes the use of volunteers to support patient care needs.
• Actively recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and retains volunteers for program needs.
• Ensures background and health screenings are completed prior to volunteer placement.
• Maintains records of recruitment, retention and volunteer utilization.
• Delivers high quality training for new volunteers and at least 4 in-services per year.
• Communicates patient and family needs to the IDT and supports plan of care.
