Job summary

VitalCaring Group is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to lead training, recruit and supervise volunteers, and collaborate with the hospice team to coordinate patient-centered care.

You will maintain volunteer records, participate in interdisciplinary meetings, and support program development while promoting a compassionate environment for patients and families across our locations.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of health care setting experience (hospice preferred).
• Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services.
• Understanding hospice philosophy and patient-centered care.
• Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel for patient and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation program.
• Recruit, educate, and select volunteers from multiple sessions per year.
• Establish volunteer service needs with patients, families, and hospice team.
• Supervise and evaluate volunteers promptly and appropriately.
• Maintain monthly volunteer statistics and personnel files.
• Attend interdisciplinary group meetings and contribute to planning.
• Provide information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services.
• Participate in program development budget planning as needed.
• Contribute to quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives.
• Accept and perform related duties as assigned.
