Job summary

Reserve Care, formerly Hospice of the Western Reserve, seeks a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to oversee volunteers in patient care and non-patient settings. You will recruit, train, schedule volunteers and coordinate with care teams to meet patient and family needs.

The role emphasizes community outreach, documentation, and collaboration with staff, while upholding diversity, inclusion, and high customer-service standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, public administration or related field.
• Experience in volunteer management, training or community relations is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Select, assign and schedule volunteers to meet patients’ and/or families’ needs; ensure staffing and provide ongoing training and support.
• Survey teams to assess volunteer needs; design recruitment plans and coordinate life enrichment events.
• Maintain accurate records of volunteer assignments and document hours served; update plans of care.
• Recruit, select and train volunteers; supervise orientation and evaluate volunteers.
• Identify outreach opportunities and participate in events; support volunteer recognition initiatives.
• Maintain records and provide timely statistical data and activity reports; complete documentation.
• Perform additional duties as required and uphold strong customer-service standards.
• Promote diversity and inclusion in all volunteer activities.
