Job summary

Compassus seeks a Volunteer Coordinator to lead the volunteer program, supervise volunteers, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient care needs. You will recruit, interview, train, and retain volunteers, ensuring background checks and health screenings are completed and that documentation is accurate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Colleague degree (AS or BS) preferred.
• Experience in Social Services, Human Services, Resource Management or related field is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
• Prior experience managing volunteer services or non-profit organization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, train, and retain volunteers.
• Plan, assign, and direct volunteer workload.
• Appraise performance and manage disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain records of recruitment and volunteer utilization and plan of care involvement.
• Ensure background and health screenings are completed prior to placement.
• Deliver at least 4 in-services per year for active volunteers.
