Job summary

AHRC Nassau seeks a dedicated supervisor to oversee daily activities of volunteers and staff, ensuring safety, documentation, and effective coordination of on-site and community-based programs.

You will develop individualized HAB plans with volunteers, supervise staff, and participate in transports while maintaining open lines of communication with coordinators and families. Strong communication and driving eligibility are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Human Services related field preferred.
• Minimum one year experience working with people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Valid and clean NYS driver license and needs to be and remain a Qualified Driver.
• Computer skills preferred.
• AMAP/CPR/First Aid/SCIP-R and defensive driving training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day activities of volunteers and staff on and off site.
• Develop individualized hab plans with program volunteers.
• Coordinate on-site and community-based activities for volunteers.
• Supervise Assistant Manager and DSPs.
• Oversee transports to program and volunteer locations.
• Communicate with parent/correspondent and service coordinators about progress and needs.
• Provide direct support services to program volunteers as needed.
• Ensure protection of volunteers from neglect/abuse; report incidents promptly.
• Document all facility issues; ensure furniture, equipment, and supplies are ordered and maintained.
• Attend meetings, observe, and consult staff to discuss progress and needs.
• Train and support volunteers in tasks related to assignments.
• Promote agency philosophies and guiding principles.
• Complete required trainings/certifications.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Human Services related field preferred
