Job summary

AHRC Nassau in Baldwin, NY is seeking a Direct Support Supervisor who will work with the Manager to ensure individuals receive high-quality, person-centered support across self-care, health, safety, and daily activities.

The role involves supervising and training Direct Support Professionals, maintaining schedules and records, coordinating transportation and medical appointments, and collaborating with RN, physicians, and day programs to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Valid NYS Driver's License throughout employment.
• One year experience working with the developmentally disabled.
• AMAP certification required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with strong organizational ability.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and trains Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality support.
• Assists with training of new employees to ensure adequate staffing.
• Maintains weekly staff schedules and assigns shifts based on resident needs.
• Maintains records of staff time, attendance, performance and training needs.
• Verifies treatment plan documentation is present and completed daily.
• Assists with residents' financial activities and monthly statements review.
• Arranges transportation for medical appointments and ensures vehicle availability.
• Collaborates with site RN, physicians and pharmacies for resident care.
• Coordinates with day program staff to ensure ongoing communication.
• Oversees housekeeping and living environment for safety and sanitation.
• Performs Direct Support Professional duties as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
