Job summary

Saint Peter's Healthcare System is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator within Volunteer Services to lead recruitment, onboarding, and training programs for volunteers. The role emphasizes independent policy development, regulatory alignment, and advancing service excellence across the volunteer network.

The coordinator will align activities with the organization's mission, administer the strategic plan, manage budgets, and represent Saint Peter's with external partners to expand volunteer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred and 2–5 years of customer service, retail, public relations and/or volunteer services and recruiting experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels, orally and in writing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to communicate data and educational programs; knowledge of databases.
• Demonstrate skills in planning, organizing, analyzing customer experience and volunteer services feedback.
• Knowledge of customer service, complaint management, and service recovery.
• Solid interpersonal skills for effective communication; supervisory experience is helpful.
• Must be detail-oriented, multitask, and able to work independently.
• Ability to function independently, handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee volunteer recruitment strategies and onboarding programs; schedule volunteers.
• Create volunteer program policies; consider regulatory requirements and improve utilization.
• Align activities with mission; develop and administers the Volunteer Services strategic plan.
• Manage the volunteer services budget and approve expenditures.
• Represent the organization with external agencies and educational institutions; recruit volunteers.
• Address volunteer concerns and resolve conflicts; guide volunteers and team leaders.
