Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Volunteer Coordinator to administer and grow our volunteer program across departments, promoting effective support for patients, families, and staff at our Virginia sites. You will maintain records, support communications, training, and recognition while ensuring compliance and reporting accuracy.

The role includes recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and site-specific program coordination with opportunities in community engagement and fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Public Relations, Business Administration, Management, or related field (preferred)
• 3 years related experience (required)
• Previous experience in supervision and training (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate volunteer programs, including recruitment, screening, onboarding, training, scheduling, evaluation, and recognition of volunteers.
• Assign volunteers to appropriate departments to support patients, families, and staff.
• Maintain volunteer records, compliance requirements, and reporting metrics.
• Assist with budget stewardship, policy development, and continuous improvement of volunteer services.
• Support communication efforts through meetings, newsletters, surveys, and community outreach initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure volunteer services align with operational goals and quality standards.
• Coordinate and support site-specific volunteer programs, which may include community engagement initiatives, fundraising events, retail operations, educational programs, or other mission-aligned activities, based on local needs.
