Job summary

Humane Colorado is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to support the Buddy Center in Castle Rock and Harmony Equine Center in Franktown. This role handles onboarding, recruitment, trainings, and communications for a growing volunteer program.

You will liaise with operations, manage background checks, and organize events while ensuring excellent customer service and confidentiality. Office-based with some remote support as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience speaking in large group settings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between operations staff and volunteers.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure volunteer coverage.
• Facilitate onboarding process for prospective volunteers.
• Support facilitating group trainings as needed.
• Conduct recruitment efforts to generate program interest.
• Interview prospective volunteers and assign areas of interest.
• Coordinate community service volunteer programs and background checks.
• Update and revise training materials as necessary.
• Organize and maintain volunteer paperwork and supplies.
• Coordinate Buddy Center Summer Teen Program activities and communications.
• Monitor volunteer attendance and follow up on service requirements.
• Create and distribute monthly newsletters for each facility.
• Plan and facilitate volunteer engagement events.
• Resolve volunteer issues and provide day-to-day support.
• Remotely support volunteer programs at other centers as needed.
