Job summary

Kitsap Humane Society is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to lead the volunteer program. This full-time role reports to the Volunteer Manager and works closely with the Volunteer Services department to ensure volunteers are effectively utilized and supported.

Responsibilities include coordinating recruitment, orientation, training, scheduling, and retention efforts, as well as organizing appreciation events and maintaining relationships with community agencies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated people skills and love of working with people.
• Very strong public speaking and teaching skills for large groups and individuals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate volunteer recruitment through online marketing, events, and networking.
• Welcome and orient new volunteers; process applications and background checks; schedule shifts.
• Train volunteers and develop training materials; connect volunteers with supervisors.
