Job summary

Canine Companions in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator (CEDC) to manage daily activities and administration of the volunteer program at the Canine Early Development Center. You will support recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, engagement, retention, and recognition to help advance organizational goals.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to balance multiple priorities while traveling locally as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in volunteer management or nonprofit programs.
• Ability to recruit, train, motivate, and engage volunteers.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including public speaking.
• Ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, engagement, retention, and recognition.
• Conduct interviews, screenings, orientations, and onboarding sessions.
• Match volunteer skills and availability with organizational needs.
• Schedule and supervise volunteers supporting various services.
• Develop volunteer programs that increase capacity while ensuring safety standards.
