Job summary

Wayside Waifs is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to support the daily operations of the volunteer program and work with the Volunteer Services Manager to recruit, onboard, train, mentor, and retain volunteers.

You will help develop and implement programs, provide guidance to staff, and foster a positive experience for volunteers while ensuring clear communication and timely administrative duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, volunteer roles, or people-facing environments.
• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• Ability to learn multiple software platforms quickly.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate recruitment and enrollment of all new volunteers.
• Serve as a primary resource and liaison for all volunteers.
• Create and update volunteer training materials and instructors.
• Assist with volunteer engagement and retention initiatives.
• Develop and distribute weekly volunteer communications.
• Support volunteer recognition and appreciation efforts.
• Maintain accurate volunteer information across systems.
• Manage the training calendar and ensure safety standards.
• Establish effective relationships with staff and volunteers.
