Job summary

Meals on Wheels Central Texas is seeking a Volunteer Services Coordinator to support the recruitment, placement, and onboarding of volunteers across the organization. You will serve as the primary contact for department requests, coordinate match calls, and develop recruitment strategies to create meaningful volunteer opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in volunteer coordination, recruitment, or related fields.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Proficiency with databases, CRM platforms, or volunteer management systems.
• Ability to build relationships with volunteers, staff, and community partners.
• Biilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
• Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Volunteer Request Process, assess needs, and support engagement.
• Conduct volunteer match calls and assess skills, interests, availability, and experience.
• Recruit volunteers for office, project-based, internships, and group roles.
• Oversee the volunteer application process from inquiry to onboarding.
• Collaborate to develop targeted recruitment strategies to meet needs.
• Coordinate one-time and group volunteer projects with departments and partners.
• Build relationships with businesses, community orgs, and educational institutions.
• Coordinate background checks, onboarding docs, and data management.
• Track recruitment and placement activities and prepare reports.
• Support volunteer recruitment events and outreach efforts.
• Promote positive volunteer experiences through responsive communication.
