Reporting to the Volunteer Engagement Manager, this position is one of three Volunteer Engagement Coordinators serving as a public face of the Food Bank’s volunteer and visitor experience. Th e Volunteer Engagement Coordinator works at the volunteer reception desk, checking volunteers in and out and providing orientation at the beginning of volunteer shifts. This position also schedules individual volunteers and volunteer groups, answers inquiries about volunteer programs, and fields a high volume of phone calls, emails, online form requests and walk‑ins from members of the public, providing the highest level of customer service. Additional responsibilities include management of volunteer programs, strategic community outreach, volunteer recruitment and program development to support other departments within the Food Bank, and volunteer data management, administration and reporting.
This position is responsible for building and managing strong working relationships with both internal and external partners, including volunteers, partner agencies and all Food Bank teams. This position serves as a public face of the Food Bank’s volunteer and visitor experience.
The Food Bank is open to volunteers 70 hours a week. The current schedule for this position is Monday‑Friday 8 am-5 pm, Tuesday–Saturday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., or Monday‑Thursday 10 am-9 pm, with occasional flexibility for volunteer shift changes.
This position requires sitting or standing for long periods of time, using computers, laptops, and other technology. This position can be hybrid but will also have times that they are needed to work in person. This position also occasionally works outside in various weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold or rain and occasionally works around machines with moving parts and moving objects. This position works closely with others and works alone.
CTFB serves 21 counties in central Texas. This position may rarely require same-day travel between counties, using a personal vehicle or CTFB passenger fleet and possibly occasional out of town travel for meetings, special events or professional development
