Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to manage the full volunteer lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, and training. The role also oversees the in-kind gifts program and coordinates with program leadership to align service delivery with organizational priorities.

You will support events, donor engagement, and Development initiatives while ensuring compliance with required clearances and reporting. This is a full-time position based in Pittsburgh.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, communications, public policy or related field with 2+ years of volunteer/fundraising/nonprofit experience, or a high school diploma with 5+ years in those areas.

Responsibilities

• Oversee onboarding, training, and communication for volunteers to ensure engagement.
• Ensure all required clearances are completed for volunteers.
• Develop and implement a recruitment strategy to expand volunteer engagement.
• Grow partnerships with corporations and community groups.
• Use volunteer management software to schedule volunteers and track hours, training, and participation.
• Analyze volunteer program data to identify opportunities and address challenges with leadership.
• Coordinate in-kind gifts program including donor acknowledgment and distribution.
• Support events, donor engagement, and development initiatives.
