Job summary

Douglas County School District seeks a VoIP Network Engineer II to maintain and optimize the district's voice and data network. You will support day-to-day operations, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IP telephony, Unified Communications, and LAN/WAN infrastructure.

The role requires 2+ years in VoIP/UC or telecom engineering, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent IT experience, and familiarity with CUCM on-prem.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or 4 years IT experience (2 years networking or voice telecom).
CCNA Collaboration desired.
2+ years VoIP/UC/telecom engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Work with telecom carriers, SIP trunk providers, and hardware vendors to resolve voice, data, and circuit-related issues.
Monitor, resolve, escalate, and close VoIP, telecom, and network-related work requests.
Provide network and VoIP engineering for on-prem IP telephony and UC (CUCM) and supporting LAN/WAN infrastructure.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Administer and monitor VoIP network standards to ensure optimal Call Quality (QoS) and uptime.
Create design, call-flow diagrams, topology maps, proposals, and standards documentation for voice and network systems.
Collaborate with the core Networking Team to implement network changes for voice services.
Document voice system designs, dial plans, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Maintain knowledge of legacy TDM/POTS while optimizing modern VoIP/SIP environments.
