Job summary

South Western Communications is seeking a skilled Technician 1 to install, troubleshoot and maintain electronic communication systems, including VOIP, SIP and data networks. The role reports to the Project Manager and requires an electronics background with 1+ years of related experience.

You will install and service systems, train customers, read wiring diagrams, and support on-call duties. A two-year electronics degree or equivalent is preferred, with certifications being a plus.

Qualifications

• A two-year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and 1+ years related field experience.
• Experience with VoIP, telephony, data networks, wireless data, fire alarm, CCTV, sound systems, or nurse call applications.
• Cisco and Microsoft certifications desirable.
• Ability to install a project from engineering documents with minimal assistance.
• Ability to manage small to large projects with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the final hookup and programming of electronics equipment for new jobs.
• Responds to customer''s service-related issues promptly.
• Tests and documents readings for customer''s systems.
• Updates customer files.
• Troubleshoots and repairs electronic components.
• Responsible for handling on-call duties on a regular scheduled basis.
• Trains and instructs the customer on the proper use of the equipment.
• Responsible for reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Manages and motivates the Technicians and serves as onsite SWC representative when the Project Manager is not available.
