Job summary

South Western Communications seeks an experienced Technician to install, troubleshoot and maintain electronic communication systems, including VOIP, data networks, CCTV and nurse call applications. You will perform final hookup, programming, customer training and on-call support to ensure maximum system performance.

The role requires reading wiring diagrams, operating test equipment, and coordinating with project managers.

Qualifications

Two-year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and 1+ years related field experience.
Knowledge and experience in installation, testing and troubleshooting of equipment/systems.
Experience with VoIP, telephony, data networks, wireless data, fire alarm, CCTV, sound systems, or nurse call applications preferred.

Responsibilities

Final hookup and programming of electronics equipment for new jobs.
Respond to service-related issues promptly.
Test and document readings for customer systems.
Update customer files and on-site progress.
Troubleshoot and repair electronic components.
On-call duties on a regular scheduled basis.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
Operate test equipment (Volt/Meter, Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multi-meter, Impedance Meter).
Assist with preventive maintenance of customer equipment.
