Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Engineer to assist with support, maintenance, and implementation of the enterprise telecom infrastructure, including Cisco Call Manager, voicemail, video conferencing, and related systems.

The role requires hands-on installation, configuration, and administration of Cisco UC environments, plus inventory management, documentation, and coordination with vendors.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of telecom hardware/software installation and support including Cisco Call Manager.
  • Associate degree in telecommunications, computer science, information systems or closely related field preferred.
  • CCNA certification required.
  • Experience in healthcare settings and/or large enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain and monitor Cisco UC environments.
  • Resolve complex incidents and service requests independently.
  • Generate utilization reports for telecom equipment and services.
  • Maintain telecom inventory and numbering database.
  • Provide server-level support including backups and capacity monitoring.

Job Description

This role is responsible for assisting with the support, maintenance and implementation of the telecommunications infrastructure for the enterprise. This includes the administration of the telecommunications infrastructure and its associated software, including Cisco Call Manager, call accounting systems, voice mail, interactive voice response, video conferencing systems and web conferencing systems.

Responsibilities
  • Performs design, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of Cisco Unified Collaboration (UC) environments.
  • Resolves complex incidents and service requests independently.
  • Generates utilization reports related to telecommunications equipment and services.
  • Maintains telecommunications inventory and database of phone numbers, parts and supplies.
  • Provide support to telecom infrastructure initiatives in the areas of Cisco Call Manager, voicemail, video conferencing and web conferencing
  • Provides server level support of the telecommunications environment including backup, capacity monitoring and server rebuild with vendor support.
  • Independently provides basic and complex administration of the telecom environments.
  • Assists with developing technical reference architecture and enterprise standards for Cisco collaboration environments.
  • Assists in selection of new hardware and software services and/or vendors.
  • Keep current on new and innovative collaboration technologies and makes recommendations.
  • Updating telecom documentation including written narrative and Visio diagrams.
  • Provides design and complex installations for new facilities.
  • Processes service requests, coordinates with technicians and/or vendors, and schedules services to meet construction and other special projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Completes tasks given to accomplish group goal, functions as team member. Is polite, fair, and tactful when working with others, and responds in a timely manner.

Paying $50-60/hr

Contract: 3 months

Skills and Requirements
  • Some level of Degree Required
  • (4) years of experience including hands-on knowledge of the installation, implementation, configuring, programming, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment, video conferencing equipment, and voice/data equipment including current versions of Cisco Call Manager.
  • Associate’s degree from a recognized college or university in telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Systems or closely related field preferred.
