Job summary

Phonic in San Francisco is seeking a Deployment Strategist to own the pre-sale journey end-to-end, from kickoff through production go-live and beyond, ensuring customers integrate, launch, and scale voice AI workloads. You’ll sit between customer teams and Phonic’s engineering and research groups, guiding deployments, debugging integrations, and advising on production-grade voice products.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years in product, engineering, consulting, or as a founder.
• Strong customer-facing experience and consultative mindset.
• Technical fluency to read API docs and discuss web/cloud architectures.
• Clear, precise written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• High velocity and ownership in early-stage environments.

Responsibilities

• Own customer engagements end-to-end from pre-sale kickoff through pilot and go-live.
• Embed with customer teams to advise on design, configuration, and scaling of voice AI agents.
• Act as primary technical escalation during onboarding: debug payloads and latency issues.
• Design and run migration plans for moving workloads onto Phonic.
• Monitor deployment health and lead reviews to expand voice AI usage.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to turn learnings into product feedback.
