Job summary

Vallen Distribution in Illinois is seeking a Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator I to deliver and manage inventory at customers' sites and handle storage, distribution, and order fulfillment of merchandise and equipment.

You will drive company vehicles to customer sites, ensure shipment accuracy, and support VMI setup and coordination withSales teams. A high school diploma and at least 1 year in warehouse/delivery roles are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience or training in warehouse, inventory counting or delivery.
• Valid driver's license that complies with company standards.
• Willingness to learn and work on semi-routine tasks.
• Self-starter with the ability to work with supervision.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions written, oral, or diagrammed.
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks correctly and timely.
• Proactive, positive team approach to problem resolution.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles to transport and deliver goods safely and in compliance with DOT standards.
• Ensure accuracy of shipments to customers.
• Assist with VMI space setup and stock product at customer sites.
• Follow customer orders from pick-up to delivery and setup.
• Record customer spot buy orders and relay to CSR or Account Rep.
• Scan barcodes at customer sites to generate orders.
• Perform VMI functions at point-of-use areas and communicate with supervisors and sales teams.
• Maintain min/max and reorder points; report observations to management.
• Suggest changes to customer inventory levels based on usage.
• Ensure barcodes are up to date and legible for scanners.
