Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a Customer Service Representative for the Division of Vital Records. The role assists on-site customers with vital records, processes applications, and issues certified copies in a secure, auditable environment.

Responsibilities include data entry, fee collection, and initiating amendments as required. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement after 12 months and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
• Three (3) years of customer service experience.
• Two (2) years of face cashiering or banking experience.
• Ability to type at 45 wpm (on-site test).
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered per agency policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist on-site customers for vital records; advise on eligibility and issue certified copies.
• Enter applications into electronic vital records system; collect and receipting fees.
• Initiate amendments by affidavits of correction, paternity acknowledgements, legitimations, and court orders.
