Job summary

South Carolina Department of Public Health is seeking a Customer Service Representative to assist on-site customers seeking vital records at the Division of Vital Records. Under supervision, you will process applications, determine entitlement, issue certified copies, and handle amendments and related requests.

You will enter data into the electronic vital records system, collect fees, and ensure audit-ready accountability by reconciling discrepancies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
• Three years of customer service experience.
• Ability to type 45 wpm; on-site test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with applications for certified copies and verify information.
• Enter data into electronic vital records system and reconcile discrepancies.
• Initiate amendments and establish delayed certificates.
• Perform general clerical tasks and office maintenance.
