Walmart Vision Center in Houghton Lake Heights, MI is seeking an Optical Department Lead to drive sales growth, oversee fittings, and mentor the team. You will ensure pricing accuracy, inventory control, and strong customer service while adhering to HIPAA and state regulations.

This role requires supervisory experience and a commitment to community outreach. You will work under optometric supervision, coordinate with labs, and maintain high standards of accuracy and safety in optical operations

Qualifications

• Two or more years of college completed.
• One year of retail experience and one year of supervisory experience.
• Two years of general work experience, including one year of optical experience and high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Meets eligibility requirements to work in the Vision Center, including LIC/registration as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Leads department sales growth through merchandising, pricing accuracy, inventory oversight, and seasonal execution.
• Forecasts sales trends and aligns product assortments with customer needs and local patterns.
• Monitors competitive pricing and adjusts strategies to strengthen market relevance.
• Leads community outreach efforts to promote optical services and strengthen local relationships.
• Oversees measurements, fittings, and lens education under applicable supervision, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Manages inventory, lab communications, and order processing to maintain quality and readiness.
