Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with patient prep, preliminary testing, and measurements. No optical experience is required as training and tools will be provided to learn about the industry and deliver a best-in-class patient experience.

Join our team to help ensure patients are prepared for exams, maintain smooth appointment flow, and assist with pretest equipment and vision screenings. Weekend and evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with ability to understand basic math.
• Personable and patient with the ability to comfort patients during screening processes.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products, and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required, training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions and medical history to prep for the Optometrist exam.
• Maintain smooth patient flow to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures they will experience.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings before the doctor visit.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and perform other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
