Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Houston is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors during patient visits, performing preliminary testing and measurements. You’ll learn to use pretest equipment and assist with preparing patients for exams, with training provided.

This role emphasizes a friendly, patient-focused approach, with opportunities to grow through role-specific training and participation in our Vision coverage and product discounts. Some weekend/evening shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Personable, patient, able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history and prep for exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures during appointment.
• Learn to use pretest equipment for visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors to provide a seamless patient experience.
