Job summary

You will assist providers, perform laboratory tasks, administer meds and vaccines, manage scheduling, referrals, and messaging, and help maintain a safe, organized clinical environment.

This role requires completing an accredited MA program or equivalent training and the ability to work with diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required across divisions.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military training in lieu of MA program.
• Wake Forest: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of MA program or 2 years MA experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, med rec, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, CLIA testing.
• Administers medications and vaccines per medication rights.
• Handles referrals, insurance authorizations, scheduling, and patient messaging.
• Maintains clean, stocked work environment and equipment.
• May assist with training and onboarding.
