Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care within our clinic. The role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, conducting health screenings, and assisting providers with procedures as ordered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military clinical training as per DD214.
• Possession of appropriate certification/licensure (BLS as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies while providing patient care.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, health maintenance, screenings, etc.
• Assists providers with procedures as ordered.
• Conducts venipuncture, sample labeling, and lab order preparation.
• Performs POCT and waived CLIA-compliant tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines following medication administration rights.
• Maintains clean, stocked, and safe work areas.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork.
