Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a Medical Assistant to join the Wellness Hub - Sleep Medicine team. The role supports patient flow, rooming, vital signs, and basic labs under provider supervision. Requires MA training and BLS, with responsibilities including medication administration and vaccines, and ensuring a safe, efficient clinical environment.

The position is full-time, 40 hours weekly, typically Monday–Friday 8AM–5PM, with pay range $22.90–$34.35 per hour and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant.
• High School Diploma or GED; completed accredited MA program or military training per DD214/in lieu of a formal MA program.
• Current BLS certification; CMA/RMA certification recognized by national bodies.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice, follows policies, and maintains competency for patient care.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings.
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties such as venipuncture, specimen labeling, and POCT per standing orders; completes waived lab tests per CLIA.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork; supports patient messaging and referrals.
• Maintains a clean work environment and ensures equipment is in working order.
