Job summary

Fifth Third Bank is seeking a Senior Mortgage Loan Originator to own the end-to-end mortgage loan process from application through closing. You will train and support Mortgage Loan Advisors, develop sustainable referral networks, and ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, knowledge of loan products, and the ability to manage a pipeline while delivering a superior customer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent mandatory; college degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of mortgage origination experience at Fifth Third or similar institution preferred.
• Top 25% in closed loan production or units in prior year preferred; strong performance track.
• Proficiency with Total Expert and other lead-generation/origination systems.
• Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.

Responsibilities

• Develop sustainable and consistent referral relationships with realtors, builders, and professionals.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, products, procedures, and training requirements.
• Coach and train Mortgage Loan Advisors on behaviors and activities to sustain referrals.
• Educate on all aspects of mortgage loan origination, including agency and portfolio guidelines, processing, underwriting, and closing.
