Job summary

Fifth Third Bank is seeking a Senior Mortgage Loan Originator to oversee the end-to-end mortgage process, develop referral networks, and educate Mortgage Loan Advisors. This role emphasizes compliance with lending guidelines and delivering exceptional customer service throughout origination, processing, underwriting and closing.

The position involves proactive relationship-building, training, and managing a loan pipeline, with compensation largely incentive-based in a flexible “virtual/remote”

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a four-year college degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of mortgage origination experience at Fifth Third or similar institution preferred.
• Top 25% in closed loan production or units in the prior calendar year; proven performance such as top-tier score-card.
• Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines; processing, underwriting, and closing procedures; federal lending regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop sustainable referral relationships with realtors, builders, and professionals.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, loan products, processing, underwriting, and guidelines. Complete required training on time.
• Coach and train Mortgage Loan Advisor on behaviors required for development and sustaining referrals.
• Educate Mortgage Loan Advisor on agency and portfolio guidelines, processing, underwriting, closing, and pricing.
• Manage pipeline from origination through closing and provide status updates to branches and applicants.
• Attend sales meetings and participate in training as required.
