Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Deskside Support Engineer in Charlotte, NC to provide high-touch, on-site support for VIPs and executives. You will troubleshoot hardware/software, manage AV/VC systems, and maintain asset inventories while coordinating with government stakeholders.

The role emphasizes discretion, urgent response, and leadership in a fast-paced environment with security compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in deskside/desktop support with 1-2 years in a lead role.
• Experience supporting VIPs with discretion and urgency.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac OS, Active Directory.
• Experience with AV/conferencing systems and ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy).
• Government support experience or ability to obtain clearance; strong communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver white glove support for VIPs and executives with priority response.
• Provide hands-on hardware/software support (imaging, patches, installs).
• Manage conference room AV/VC equipment and ensure meeting readiness.
• Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and audits.
• Serve as escalation point and interface with government stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with government IT security and data handling policies.
