Job summary

Hope and Healing Survivor Resource Center is seeking an Education and Prevention Specialist in Akron, OH. The role focuses on preventing sexual violence, human trafficking, and intimate partner violence, educating the community, and supporting survivors through outreach and partnerships with schools and organizations.

The position requires a four-year degree in a related field and strong communication skills, with experience in victim advocacy and trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in communication, public relations, social work, education, or related field.
• Victim advocacy training and/or experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sexual assault, intimate partner violence and human trafficking prevention, trauma-informed care.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and organizations.

Responsibilities

• Create age-appropriate, evidence-based educational programs on sexual assault prevention, consent, and healthy relationships.
• Provide training and workshops for professionals and community members.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and agencies.
• Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and meetings to promote awareness and resources.
• Offer support and resources to survivors encountered during outreach events.
• Collect and maintain records of outreach activities and program outcomes.
• Represent the organization by participating in coalitions and task forces as requested.
