Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center in Akron, OH is seeking a Victim Advocate to provide trauma-informed advocacy and crisis intervention for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and trafficking. You will support access to resources, safety planning, and informed decision-making across hospital, law enforcement, and community settings.

The role requires a degree in a related field or relevant advocacy experience, driving ability, and the ability to work flexible hours including

Qualificações

• Education or experience in victim advocacy or related field.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet driving insurability requirements.
• Able to pass criminal background checks as required by Ohio and federal agencies.

Responsabilidades

• Provide crisis intervention and trauma-informed support to survivors across hospitals, advocacy centers, law enforcement, courts, and community settings.
• Manage an individual caseload with ongoing advocacy, crisis intervention, and referrals; develop goal plans with clients.
• Use crisis intervention best practices including safety planning and trauma-informed care.
• Complete accurate client documentation and statistical information per agency requirements.
• Maintain confidential records for all survivors and co-survivors.
• Attend required trainings (minimum 40 hours initially) and keep up with annual training requirements.
• Collaborate with allied professionals and other victim advocacy groups to ensure coordinated services.
• Adhere to agency policies, CARF standards, and relevant federal/state regulations.
