Job summary

Omni Richmond Hotel, located in the historic Shockoe Slip district of Richmond, seeks a server to warmly greet guests, take food and beverage orders, and work with the culinary team to meet dietary needs. Pay is $9/hour plus tips, with duties including MICROS transactions and maintaining spotless service areas.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of serving experience, basic wine and cocktail knowledge, and strong English communication skills. Flexibility to work weekends/holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the dining room.
• Must have unexpired Food Handlers and TABC – or obtain upon hire.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting specialty cocktails.
• Previous cash-handling experience preferred.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Wait on tables promptly and courteously.
• Greet guests and provide superior customer service.
• Take orders and answer questions on food/beverage menu and daily specials.
• Communicate with culinary team about meal requirements and dietary needs.
• Record transactions in MICROS and adhere to cash handling standards.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each course/beverage.
• Present accurate check and process payment.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and service areas.
• Service guests per Omni Moments of Service Standards.
• Protect hotel from liability with regard to over-serving guests.
