Petco Vetco Total Care in California is seeking a Veterinary Technician to deliver high-quality patient care and exceptional client service. You will support veterinary teams in surgeries, exams, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, and treatment administration while maintaining EMR accuracy and inventory control.

The role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate patient care, and strong communication with clients. Eligible candidates bring credentialing and at least one year of veterinary assistant

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician required; college-equivalent education accepted.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate, professional demeanor under stressful situations.
• Telephone and computer skills required.
• Team player willing to learn and adapt to hospital needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, record history in EMR, take vitals.
• Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgeries, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Restrain patients, process lab samples, dispense medications as directed.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, maintain records and inventory.
• Prepare patients for procedures and monitor anesthesia under supervision.
• Provide treatments, maintain patient care and hospital cleanliness.
• Train new staff and support hospital operations.
• Maintain a neat, clean hospital environment and schedule maintenance.
