Job summary

Petco seeks a Veterinary Technician to support Vetco Total Care full-service hospital patients and deliver outstanding customer care to pet owners. You will work under veterinarians and Hospital Office Manager to uphold high standards of patient care and team cohesion.

Requirements include a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the relevant state, at least 1 year of experience, and strong communication. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient-first care, and comprehensive hospital duties.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1-year previous experience as a Veterinary Technician.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Compassionate and able to maintain a professional demeanor.
• Telephone and computer skills are required.
• College education completed to become credentialed.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weights and vital signs, and document visits in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Restrain patients, process laboratory samples, and dispense medications as directed.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, manage records, inventory, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for procedures and monitor anesthesia parameters during procedures and recovery.
• Provide in-hospital treatments, case management, and assist with training and cleanliness.

Education

College or college-equivalent education completed
