Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state where hospital is located.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and professional demeanor under stressful situations.
• Telephone and computer skills are required.
• Team player willing to learn new techniques and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weight and vital signs, and document the visit in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Restrain patients, process lab samples, and dispense medications as directed.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, and manage records and AR.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and assist with recovery and discharge.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and maintain patient nourishment and cleanliness.
• Train new staff and support knowledge sharing as required.
• Keep the hospital environment neat and maintain maintenance schedule.
