Petco is seeking a Veterinary Technician for its Vetco Total Care full-service hospital in Santa Ana, CA. You will provide excellent veterinary care to patients and outstanding customer service to owners, supporting the hospital team and upholding Petco’s values.

Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education required to become Credentialed Veterinary Technician.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate, professional demeanor, and strong teamwork.
• Telephone and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weight and vital signs, and record history.
• Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgeries, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Restrain patients, process laboratory samples, dispense medications as directed.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, and manage records/receivables.
• Prepare patients for surgical procedures, monitor anesthesia and recovery.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and keep patients clean, fed, and comfortable.
• Participate in training of new staff.
• Keep hospital clean and organized.
