Veterinary Technician - Neurology

Full-time: Mon-Thur 7:30am or 8am-6pm with some flexibility to stay later as needed for surgeries. On-call required.

About You

As a Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your work will include hands-on care, outpatient treatments, laboratory tests, surgery assistance, and support services such as admitting and discharging patients.

Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Personal fondness for dogs and cats
  • 2+ years working in a veterinary setting; clinic or hospital
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail
  • Comfort and acceptance of taking direction from superiors
  • Experience with restraint
  • Excellent communication skills; clear and professional expression
  • Solid client and patient relationship skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Positive attitude under pressure
  • Ability to lift objects and patients up to 50 pounds
  • Follow directions with and without supervision
  • Confidence in running anesthesia and understanding anesthetic recovery for various cases
Role Responsibilities:
  • Assist service leads and teammates in daily operations
  • Perform technical and administrative tasks following protocols
  • Provide high-quality care and customer service
  • Maintain technical proficiency and proactively support team tasks
  • Work under supervision until trained and approved to work independently
  • Support patient admission/discharge, client communication, diagnostics, restraint, radiography, blood draws, catheter placement, anesthesia, and hygiene tasks
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
  • Explain post-procedure and at-home care instructions
  • Discuss long-term care of diagnoses
  • Provide basic animal husbandry and in-hospital care
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly tasks as assigned
  • Maintain cleanliness of the practice
