Petco in Massachusetts is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Vetco Total Care team. You will support veterinarians, assist with exams, surgeries, dentistry, and anesthesia, and help deliver outstanding patient and client care.

Qualifications

• Must have credentialed veterinary technician status.
• Minimum 1 year of veterinary technician experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate, team-oriented and adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients arriving for appointments or walk-ins, record weight and vital signs, and document in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint, obtain lab samples, handle and dispense medications, and maintain EMR.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, maintain inventory and client/patient records, and manage accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthetized patients, and discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments including injections and IV therapies; keep patients clean, fed, and exercised as directed.
• Participate in training of new staff and knowledge sharing.
• Keep hospital environment neat and perform regular cleaning.
