Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. seeks a Veterinary Technician for our Vetco Total Care full-service hospital in Massachusetts. You will assist veterinarians with exams, surgeries, dentistry, and anesthesia support, while delivering outstanding client care and patient handling.

The role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate communication, and accurate medical recordkeeping. Minimum one year of veterinary tech experience and credentialed tech status required; strong computer/phone skills expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of veterinary technician experience.
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician as required by state licensing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate, team-oriented with good telephone and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients for appointments; record vitals and history in EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with exams, surgery, dentistry, and anesthesia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint and obtain/process laboratory samples; dispense medications.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay results, and maintain records and inventory.
• Prepare patients for procedures; monitor anesthesia and recovery as directed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and basic nursing care; keep patients clean and well-fed.
• Participate in training new staff and share knowledge with the team.
• Maintain a neat, clean hospital environment and comply with maintenance schedules.
