Qualifications

• College or college‑equivalent education as required to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state of employment.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate with professional demeanor in emotional situations.
• Telephone and computer skills.
• Team player willing to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain vitals, document in EMR, and record patient history.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Restrain patients, process lab samples, handle medications, and maintain EMR.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, manage inventory and AR.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and care, keep patients clean and hydrated.
