Job summary

CityVet is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team in a fast-paced, pet-loving clinic. A Veterinary Technician Assistant will be considered with a minimum of 1 year of experience.

The VT will support veterinarians, prepare patients for surgery, obtain samples, and communicate care plans to clients. This role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and compassionate care for animals and their people.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 18 years of age at hire.
• At least 1 year in veterinary industry.
• Ability to properly and safely restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians by prepping patients for surgery and monitoring post-op.
• Administer anesthesia and take x-rays as directed by the DVM.
• Gather lab samples and help interpret results.
• Give prescribed medications and manage client instructions.
• Communicate medical information to clients clearly.
• Support the Client Service Specialist team as needed.
