Job summary

CityVet is seeking Veterinary Technician Assistants with a minimum of 1 year in the veterinary field to join our team. We are willing to train the right candidate, and entry-level positions are available as well.

A Veterinary Technician Assistant helps prepare patients for procedures, assists in animal restraint, and supports the VT and Veterinarian to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinic. Strong organizational and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 18 years of age at time of hire.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to properly and safely restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medication.
• Lift 50 lbs to waist height.
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist VT in preparing patients for medical, surgical, and dental procedures under supervision.
• Coordinate with Vet and VT teams to implement triage and treatment plans.
• Record observations and treatment plans in patient files; support medical tasks as directed by doctors.
• Assist Client Service Specialists as needed.
