Job summary

CityVet in Texas is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team. A Veterinary Technician Assistant role is acceptable with at least 1 year of experience.

You will support veterinarians by preparing patients for surgery, restraining animals, and handling lab work and medications. You will communicate with clients, help maintain smooth clinic operations, and contribute to a caring, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 18 years old at hire.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to restrain animals safely.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Lift 50 lbs to waist height.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians by prepping patients for surgery and restraining animals.
• Obtain samples and assist with lab work and testing.
• Administer medications, vaccines and anesthesia as directed.
• Take x-rays as needed and monitor post-op patients.
• Communicate with clients and provide care instructions.
• Support the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
