Job summary

CityVet is seeking Veterinary Technician Assistants with at least 1 year of experience to join our team. We are willing to train the right candidate, including entry-level applicants who show motivation and compassion for animals.

You will support Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians, help prepare patients for surgery, and assist with scheduling and front-office coordination in a busy clinic environment. CityVet emphasizes growth and team support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age at hire.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals.
• Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication.
• Lift 50 lbs to waist height; frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication & listening skills.
• Self-motivated & team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Veterinary Technician (VT) in preparing patients for medical, surgical, and dental procedures and restrain patients as needed.
• Partner with Veterinarian and VT teams to implement proper patient triage in a fast-paced setting.
• Aid Veterinary Technicians with bookings, walk-ins, and work-ins; record observations and treatment plans in patient files; assist with treatments under doctor supervision.
• Support the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
